Applications - Casting Area - SLAB
Slabs are mainly marked on the side or front areas by the SPRAY systems (non melted powder or melted metal wire) or TEMA MONO system (paint), when they are in the C.C. run out area. As alternative, Green Project can propose automatic tagging / labelling machines and also punching machines (by PUMA HAMMER system).
The resistance to ambient conditions of the symbols marked with different technologies is the same as described in the preceding data sheet.
Being them no contact marking systems, they can equip both standard machines (fixed marking units or moveable along floor rails or portals) and robots for excellent flexibility of operation and reliability.
If scale is present on the slab surface, it must be removed before marking; Green Project can supply both mechanical and water jet devices.
A special robot application is available to mark slabs “on fly” at casting speed.
The following alternatives are available:
- the TAGGING /LABELLING, using special tags resisting to high temperature, fixed by spot welding, stud welding, nailing or labels resisting to high temperature but fixed by special adhesives.
- the PUMA HAMMER unit is also available; the symbols are smaller, therefore non readable from distance, but they are permanent; marking time is very short. They do not need descaling units; operational and maintenance cost is also very low.
